Abstract
In order to achieve safe, secure, efficient and environmentally sustainable air traffic management at global, regional and local levels, the system-wide operational information exchange and life-cycle management technologies are required. The System Wide Information Management (SWIM) is to provide a collaborative air traffic management environment for system-wide interoperability and harmonization operation. However, according to current point-to-point communication, it is a challenge to construct a SWIM-based interoperability environment which allows the heterogeneous systems to cope with the full complexity of operational information exchanges. In this paper, based on a global demonstration, not only the technologies for information exchange but also the governance for information management between heterogeneous systems in the loosely coupled SWIM environment are analyzed and discussed.
