Nordic Public Art in North Dakota

Abstract

Abstract:This article provides an overview of Nordic-influenced art accessible to the public in North Dakota. Of particular focus are twenty statues, murals, and monuments. Each work of art is introduced, including its title, artist name, and location, and further contextualized. This project was a part of the larger effort to create a digital atlas for North Dakota, and the web address is noted. This article won the Odd S. Lovoll Award for undergraduate research and writing in Norwegian-American Studies in 2021.
