Abstract

This paper presents seismic performance analysis of existing RC building, constructed in the 1950s in Zagreb. Analyses are performed by static pushover analysis and dynamic analysis. Material non-linearities are implemented as concentrated hinges at the structural elements. Relevant engineering demand parameters, obtained using different complexity levels analyses, are compared in relation to design criteria. Finally, building collapse mechanisms are described and critical structural elements are identified, in order to propose an efficient seismic retrofit method.
