Abstract

Abstract Aby Warburg was born in Hamburg in 1866, into a wealthy and powerful family of Jewish bankers. From his youth, Aby decided that his destiny would not be linked to economic affairs and, by previous agreement with his brothers, managed to dissociate himself from the family business, assuring beforehand that he had enough money to carry on his research. Warburg studied philosophy, history and religion in the universities of Germany, France and Italy.
