Abstract
The simulation results of right triangular microstrip antenna (RTMA) with and without slits are reported in this paper. The structure has three layered structure in between conducting patch and the ground plane. It is found that antenna without slits but having an air gap of 1mm between the dielectric layers, resonates at a single frequency but with much improved bandwidth (32.8%). On applying two parallel slits in this patch geometry, antenna not only resonates at two different frequencies but impedance bandwidth (VSWR 2:1) up to 33.03% and directivity up to 7.52 dBi may be achieved with it.
