Abstract

The amount of heat energy required to change unit mass of a material's temperature by 1°C is called specific heat capacity. Specific heat capacity measurement of liquids can help a lot to select efficient fuel and coolant options for industrial purposes. Here we present the design of a low cost instrument to determine the specific heat capacity of liquids. The system incorporates the use of ATMega 328 micro controller based arduino deumilanove board for accurate and fast measurement. With this system we intend to provide a cost effective and flexible instrument to measure the specific heat capacity of liquids with high degree of accuracy.
