Simple Way to Pass a Guide Wire Through the Obstruction of the Bile duct

Abstract

Nowadays decompression of biliary obstruction has been performed by percutaneous transhepatic insertion of endoprosthesis (Hoevels J and Ihse I, 1979, Ferucci J. T. Jr. et al. 1983) . The important and difficult points of this method are as follows. First, how we can pass a guide wire through the obstruction. Second, how we can dilate the truck smoothly. For that purpose we had devised a new method and performed this method in 37 patients with various malignant obstructive jaundice. The period between the onset of jaundice and the procedure performed was 2 to 96 days (Mean 43 eays +22. 5) .
