Abstract

Many Christians today have not fully prioritized Jesus Christ to be sovereign in their lives. So the preaching of the supremacy of Christ in Colossians 1:15-20 becomes important. The purpose of this article explores the importance of Christians putting Christ first in their lives. This basic belief became the impetus for him to reject the teachings that refute the wholeness of Christ. This discussion uses textual studies. The results show that the finality of Christ is sufficient for the Christian faith. There is no need for additional teachings to perfect the Christian faith. True Christians always rely fully on Christ and reject teachings that deviate from the truth of the Bible such as the gnostics.
