Management and Control of a Small-Scale Eolian Electric Power System

Abstract

Wind energy conversion systems have become a central point in the research of renewable energy sources. The paper provides a possible application of the monitor and control systems for an electric generator driven by a Savonius type vertical axis wind turbine. The application is intended for individual or rural homes were the connection to national power grid is an expensive solution. The conceived monitor and control system is desired to be a low-cost solution for small-scale wind turbines.
