Abstract

Nowadays, the concept of virtual machines running simultaneously on high performance hardware servers becomes intensively exploited. In the cloud environments used by the big service providers, in the development and lab- testing environments (such as student's labs) and even in the evaluation platforms for applications security, it is routinely necessary to create and tear down multiple virtual machines. During the process of virtual machines creation, it is mandatory to assign network interface addresses, which are necessarily unique. This paper proposes an automated mechanism to provide these addresses in such a way that the human intervention is reduced and the mistakes are avoided.
