It is predicted that this will increase by almost 72% if efforts are not made to reduce this growth rate. Cervical cancer is predominantly caused by a virus known as Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Hence, this survey aims to discuss statistical information on cervical cancer incidence in the six-geopolitical regions in Nigeria. Problems with data collection from these regions are highlighted. Also, existing screening methods and challenges affecting these methods are evaluated.
