Application of Heuristic Methods in Developing Metacognitive Knowledge in Indonesian Language Teaching Materials for Foreign Speakers

Abstract

Problem-solving requires guidance in completing gradually and consistently to be conveyed to students through textbooks. This research is descriptive qualitative research with the object of research is 6 Indonesian language textbooks for foreign speakers and teachers who use these textbooks. Data were collected from content analysis of textbook documents and interviews with teachers as informants. Data analysis of this research uses and adapts interactive models to see parts of teaching materials that support the existence of heuristic aspects in problem-solving. The results of the study show that the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) book applies the heuristic method as an effort to provide education to students on how to solve problems. The forms of application of the heuristic method in the BIPA book are 1) the pattern of developing instructions by paying attention to the development of cognition, the effectiveness of instructions, and the level of difficulty of the material and 2) the completeness of additional information that is structured in a structured manner as a means of enriching the information component that supports the learner's ability to solve problems or tasks. study.
