Abstract
We present the result of a measurement of the π0 electromagnetic transition form factor, using the SINDRUM I magnetic spectrometer at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland. From a data sample of roughly 100,000 π0→e+e−γ decays, we measure a value of the form factor slope a=0.02±0.02±0.04, where the first error is statistical, the second, systematic. This measurement is consistent with both the results of the recent measurement by CELLO (DESY) and with the vector meson dominance prediction of a≊0.03.
