Cognitive collective engagement in virtual collaborative team

Abstract

Virtual Collaborative team is a new style of performing a project with a group of experts whose disperse, rarely meet, tight deadline and achievement. Those experts can be from internal or external source. Research has been acknowledged that trust and engagement take a role as determinant factors for team performance. Due to the nature of virtual environment we consider cognitive trust and intellectual engagement which derived from organizational trust and organizational engagement theory to develop a concept of Cognitive Collective Engagement and its measurement. Future research is also discussed.
