This device installed in series with an industrial noncritical load as a smart load has the capability to stabilize the voltage of the industrial loads and improve the power quality of the system autonomously. In comparison to current electric spring topologies, the introduced configuration has numerous advantages, which make it suitable for industrial applications. Operating principles, topology, and sensorless modulation method of this 5-level electric spring are also presented. Furthermore, for the controller, a radial-chordal decomposition method with only one closed-loop PI has been modified and employed. Abstract
