Abstract

In an article on the tests of our and foreign researchers of the causes of explosions of aluminium melt in an aqueous medium, the author makes an attempt by calculations and his own tests to prove that the energy of such explosions is not only a steam explosion and chemical reactions in this case, but also the formation of unstable compounds of short-lived A1H and A1H2, which are stronger than steam and chemical explosions in explosive power.
