The IDEA Model: A Conceptual Knowledge-Based Implementation of Making

Abstract

The ideas of "Making" and "Creative Coding" provide students with a learning opportunity that is driven by their own interests and according to their own pace. This is in contrast to the usual curriculum in schools, which predefines what students have to learn and decides on the processes of learning. Here, we present a model following the concept of constructionism, through which the ideas of Making can be applied in accordance with the requirements of an official curriculum. The model can be used at any school level.
