ICUIS, a J2EE based ICU information system, imports rule mechanism as well as data stream processor to automatically manage the patient data, and can not only gather the sampling data to record the daily condition of a patient, but also send out an alarm according to the rule when an exceptional data occurs. This paper introduces the rule model, representing language, state conversion and processing flow in the system.
