Abstract The transesterification reaction is a reaction used for biodiesel production. CaO is needed as a catalyst for the transesterification reaction. In this study, the CaO catalyst was produced from calcining the shell of the Snail (Achatina fulica) at a temperature of 900 o C for 10 hours. Calcination at high temperature is used to convert CaCO 3 compounds into CaO compounds.
