The development of the Slovak System of Higher Education: From 1990 to foreseeable future

Abstract

The current state of the Slovak System of Higher Education is a target of criticism. In our paper we describe its development from Velvet Revolution in 1990 and reasons leading to the current unpleasant situation. We also indicate directions that should be taken to promote its positive progress.
