3.1 Definitions 3.1.1 initiator interconnect port: An interconnect layer-resident object that connects the SCSI initiator port to the interconnect through which IUs and data transfer requests and responses are routed. 3.1.2 interconnect nexus: An association between an initiator interconnect port (see 3.1.1) and a target interconnect port (see 3.1.4) such that messages and data transmitted by one interconnect port will delivered to the other interconnect port. 3.1.3 interconnect port: An interconnect layer-resident object that connects the SCSI port to the interconnect through which IUs and data transfer requests and responses are routed. Interconnect port is synonymous with either a initiator interconnect port (see 3.1.1) or a target interconnect port (see 3.1.4). 3.1.4 target interconnect port: An interconnect layer-resident object that connects the SCSI target port to the interconnect through which IUs and data transfer requests and responses are routed.
