Abstract

In mobile ad-hoc network, packet loss often occurs because of collision or congestion. Network coding can be used for countermeasures against packet loss. This paper proposes an unreceived symbols estimation-based forwarding scheme for the contents distribution using random linear network coding. The proposed scheme reduces non-innovative packets that cannot be used to decode without reducing innovative packets that can be used to decode. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme can distribute contents to more nodes than simple network coding-based scheme and error correction-based schemes.
