Abstract

We analyzed the effect of velocity spread of electron beam in a clinotron. It was shown that depending on beam current, clinotron angle, etc., the velocity spread strongly affect on the output power and may result in power decrease when the lower electron layers move slower than upper ones and in power increase in the opposite case. The multi-frequency oscillations caused by electron velocity spread were studied.
