Abstract

The satellite method of determining coordinates has both positive and negative sides. The main advantages of using satellite methods for determining coordinates are high productivity, speed of processing and obtaining results, automation of the process, no need for line of sight, laying points in convenient places, a wide range of accuracy, round-the-clock use, the ability to determine coordinates and heights simultaneously. When using satellite equipment to determine coordinates, some disadvantages can be identified: the inability to use near reinforced concrete buildings, structures, canopies, in the foliage of trees that impair signal reception, as well as signal distortion near ground-based radio signal sources, the inability to use satellite equipment underground, dependence on weather conditions and the occurrence of errors, related to the rereflection of the satellite signal from surrounding objects.
