Abstract
In this paper, an antenna of the Microstrip Patchtype working in Ku-Band for Antenna Communication with a Suspended Ground has been portrayed. The property of suspended ground has been added to boost the gain of thedepicted antenna. This particular antenna is working for a bandwidth of 2.758 GHz operating successfully in Ku-band between 14.145 GHz and 16.903 GHz and its application frequency being presented at 15.82 GHz. The suspended ground of material FR-4 of standard permittivity of 4.4 contributes to the sharp increase in gain of this antenna by 2.74 dBi. The working of antenna in this band has a major application in satellite communications and VSATs. With a width and length measuring 20 mm, the suspended ground technique even shows its use in providing a very high efficiency of 88.04%. The use of standard thickness of copper as 18 microns and Rogers RT5880 as 0.8 mm helps in sharp return loss dip of −33.179 dB at the particular application frequency of the antenna.
