Abstract

Economic development and globalization of trade make the cross-region communication more and more frequent. Multimedia conference system supports that individuals or organizations in different places share voice, video and documents to achieve real-time communication. In order to reduce the network bandwidth, this paper designs the architecture and function modules of a multimedia conferencing system based on campus network, which can fully make use of the convenient educational resources in the campus network. Referring to its system architecture, this system offers more than just video conferencing and incorporates other communication functions such as document conferencing, global or private chat, as well as live and on-demand video streaming.
