SANDS Tool for Design and Simulation of Onboard Networks

Abstract

This paper describes SANDS (SpaceWire Automated Network Design and Simulation) system. SANDS is a computer-aided design system that allows to design and simulate SpaceWire networks. Paper provides a brief overview of the existing SpaceWire network design tools. A detailed description of the four SANDS software components is also provided. Finally, an example of real network design and modeling using SANDS is presented. This example covers all SANDS components and demonstrates their capabilities.
