This paper analyses the transmission mechanism of main hoist of quay container crane, and builds the mathematics models of the steel wire of spreader and the part from electromotor to convolution, to analyses data translation from electromotor to spreader of main hoist in quay container crane. So, it is possible to simulate the motion curve of the spreader of quay container crane in a computer program with the results gained from this paper.
