Abstract
An integrated framework for software prototyping is presented. The theme of the work is the integration of an object-oriented semantics data model (OSDM) and a statechart-based operational model (SBOM). The executability of SBOM renders a working prototype, and the expressiveness of both models enables the developer to specify a prototype rapidly. It is claimed that the combined strength of both models makes it possible to develop prototypes for a wide range of applications that include both information management systems and reactive systems. A methodology for software prototyping in this framework and an effort to build an integrated prototyping environment are also discussed.<>
