Abstract

This paper proposes the conceptual design of floating solar PV pump for production the raw sand in central region of Thailand. This floating solar PV pump is used for hybrid power source to pull a sand from under water pond. Conventional sand pulling uses diesel engine to pull a sand from the water pond. The induction motor pump with solar PV power source is considered for fuel cost reduction of diesel engine. The conceptual design result is floating solar PV panel and inverter that can be moved to the point of sand pulling. The 400kW induction motor is considered for hybrid power source with diesel engine.
