Mudra: a multimodal interface for braille teaching

Abstract

This poster explores how multimodal interfaces could be used to teach Braille faster and more efficiently. Mudra, an interface to teach Braille has been made intuitive by incorporating speech recognition, tactile and audio feedback. A prototype of the interface has been developed using a mobile phone application, Raspberry Pi based single cell refreshable Braille display and audio headset.
