Policy Implications of Minimum Support Price for Agriculture in India

Abstract

The paper examined the impact of Minimum Support Price (MSP) in adoption of agricultural technology and increasing production and buffer stocks of cereals, pulses and oilseeds in India. The results indicate that the food policy should balance interest of farmers in enhancing their incomes and consumers by proving nutrition security with reasonable budget
