Abstract

A novel compact wideband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is presented in this paper. The MIMO antenna comprises of a wideband neutralization line connected in between two symmetric slotted D-shaped monopoles and a defected ground structure which is cut into the top of the ground plane. With the introduction of wideband neutralization line as a decoupling technique and defected ground plane as an impedance matching element at the input ports of both the antennas, the proposed MIMO antenna achieves −10dB impedance bandwidth of 50.42% (8.90-14.90 GHz) with isolation better than 20 dB.
