Abstract

Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) is defined as a telecommunication system for the railway sector. It is considered as a key factor for rail digitalization. The challenging requirements of FRMCS applications for ultra-high reliability and availability, low latency, safety, and security can be satisfied by fifth generation (5G) mobile networks. Writing applications that use specific telecommunication protocol to access connectivity management functions provided by the 5G network elements requires a high degree of network expertise.
