Abstract

The Building Management Systems (BMS) faces nowadays scalability challenges related to the scale of the new buildings. Moreover, integration with the smart grid and other sources of renewable energy requires new solutions that offers the required dynamicity and scale of deployment. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that leverage the current trends in term of Edge processing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Named-Data Networking (NDN) to provide a scalable, fully distributed, and optimized solution that can support extreme scale buildings requirements.
