The Significance of Supply Chain Security Practices on Operational Performances among Logistics Providers in Malaysia

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between supply chain and the security practices operational performance – as well as the impact on supply chain security practices on operational performance among logistic service providers. Applying the resource based view of the firm to the supply chain, in this study utilizes survey data from 100 respondents who hold executive positions or higher in the logistics provider firms in Malaysia. The results are based on regression analysis and equation modeling by using SPSS software. The researcher used four independent variables that affect the supply chain security operational performances which are cargo management, facility management, human resource management and information management. The results of the study are valuable for both academic and investor.
