Abstract

It is well known that constant power loads(CPLs) will lead to system instability due to their negative impedance characteristics. This paper studies the stability of the DC microgrid with multi-converters and CPLs. It is proved that the heterogeneity between the DC-DC converters can overcome the instability of CPLs. Specifically, if the natural frequencies of converters are not all the same, i.e., the converters are heterogeneous, the system without stabilization measures may be stable. Moreover, simulations are performed using MATLAB to verify the effectiveness of the proposed theorem.
