Chinese Loanwords in English

Abstract

The language of English contains many Chinese loanwords,which have a long history.The source languages and transmission languages of Chinese loanwords in English have mainly three means of borrowing,which reflect the cultural influence of Chinese loanwords on English and demonstrate that loaning is not only a linguistic but also a socio linguistic phenomenon.Studying Chinese loanwords in English can open up a new research area of sociolinguistics and give new connotations and characteristics of the times to linguistics.
