Abstract

In this paper, we present an interactive foreground extraction tool for photo editing purpose. For a photo, a coarse-to-fine object boundary location algorithm which incorporates propagation, region-based graph cut and boundary similarity comparison is used to accurately extract the foreground boundary. Then a scan line seed-filling algorithm is employed to get the expected foreground object. The experiment results demonstrate that our method is efficient to extract the foreground in the photos with just a little user interaction.
