Abstract

This index section presents the list of Hebrew terms and Aramaic terms that occur in the book titled The Legal Methodology of Late Nehardean Sages in Sasanian Babylonia. The book consists of a systematic analysis of the halakhic/legal methodology of fourth and fifth century Nehardean amoraim in Babylonia. The analysis of this literature expands upon similar studies that the author has published elsewhere concerning the methodology of Babylonian amoraim with whom the author do not deal directly here. These articles describe various distinct characteristics present in the halakhic decision making and source interpretation (Bible, Mishnah, baraitot, and early amoraic statements) ascribed to certain outstanding Babylonian amoraim.Keywords:halakhic decision making; Nehardean sages; Sasanian Babylonia
