They use IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee and Bluetooth respectively. The paper presents a new model of sensor network which is a mixture of the both previous platforms using only IEEE 802.15.4 wireless technology. We have also compared IEEE 802.15.4 and Bluetooth. Abstract
There exist several platforms of wireless sensor networks.
