A proportional fairness method has been proposed to realize high data throughput. In the proposal, the formula which computes the average transmission rate of the proportional fairness method is modified. The effect of the proposal is that it permits flexible adjustment of the unevenness of throughput per access terminal which originates in the position of an access terminal relation to an access point. The performance of the proposed method is analyzed from several aspects, namely, throughput per sector, distance characteristics of throughput per access terminal and transmission acquisition cycle by computer simulations.
