Abstract
A Circularly Polarized wire monopole antenna for Wireless applications in the X-band communication systems is presented. The antenna is very simple to implement and less costlier and the ground plane occupies less space (20mm∗10mm) and finds the applications in high power handling scenarios. The circular polarization is achieved essentially by introducing the asymmetry in feeding the monopole with respect the strategically shaped rectangular ground. The role of the dimensions of the ground plane, monopole and asymmetry in producing orthogonal fields is analyzed. The simulated impedance bandwidth (Sii<-10 dB) is 37.5% from 7.1 GHz to 10.4 GHz and axial ratio bandwidth (AR<3 dB) of 18.6% from 7.8 GHz- 9.4 GHz is achieved. The common bandwidth of 18.6% is achieved for circular polarization. It is observed that the radiation pattern is stable across the bandwidth. The simulations are carried out using ANSYS HFSS.
