Karlovci and Karlovci High School in the Memoirs of dr Vladan Maksimovic

Abstract

The paper gives a picture of Karlovci and the famous Karlovci High School from the perspective of an Orthodox theological writer and theologian, professor of philosophy and ethics, lecturer in Karlovac Seminary and in the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Zagreb, Dr. Vladan Maksimovic (1879-1956). His unpublished memoir, which is a contribution to the cultural history of Serbs in Vojvodina at the end of the 19th century and in which he recounts his memories and experiences from the time when he was a student in Karlovci, is being analyzed.
