Procedure or Evaluation and Management Service? Identifying Separately Reportable Procedures

Abstract

It can be challenging to identify which procedures are included in an evaluation and management (E/M) service (eg, removal of sutures placed by another physician) and which are not (eg, eye examination with fluorescein dye without imaging). This article looks at some common procedural services that are and are not included in an E/M service.
