O Plano Brasil sem miséria e a modernização conservadora da política de Assistência Social

Abstract

This paper presents some of the reflections of the author ‘s doctoral research, whose object of study was the modernization movement of social assistance policy under the PTs, in the light of the Marxist critique of dependent and peripheral capitalist development in Brazil. Here we present theoretical and empirical elements that aim to problematize the intense process of regulation and institutionalization of the policy of social assistance, with emphasis on the transformations triggered by the deepening of the technocratic management of the Brazil Plan without misery. Here are some of the main findings to confirm the research hypothesis that, with this Plan, the social assistance policy becomes a special investment both for the modernization of its management and for the expansion of social facilities, being capitalized for the objectives of the Plan.
