Abstract
This paper presents a set of initial results from one of the objectives in the EU supported project SALEIE (Strategic Alignment of Electrical and Information Engineering in European Higher Education Institutions) which runs from October 2012 to November 2015. One of the key work packages within the project considers access to students in higher education within the electrical and information engineering areas. Specifically, widening participation and student support is the focus of the work package 4 (WP4). It considers international, European and national level policies and legislation, along with institutional level policies. All these levels of policy and legislation have the necessity to be interlinked.
