Abstract
The participation increase of photovoltaic systems in the Brazilian electrical matrix comes inducing the advancement of research, aiming the improvement of solar technology and mitigation actions to ensure the expected performance of these systems. The meteorological factors are those that most influence the performance of photovoltaic systems. Furthermore, the weather condition of the installation site affects considerably the accumulation of dirt on the solar modules, so that part of the incident radiation is not transmitted. This paper aims the compositional and structural identification of dirt deposited on photovoltaic modules located in different cities in the state of Minas Gerais. Initially,it was made a microstructure analysis of particles comprising the deposited material. Then the weather VI Congresso Brasileiro de Energia Solar – Belo Horizonte, 04 a 07 de abril de 2016 conditions were identified by associating them with the characteristics of dirt of the features found on site. Finally, some mitigation actions were proposed against possible impacts of dirt on PV modules installed in the cities under review.
