Abstract
The article deals with the issue of active damping of undesirable residual oscillations. The model of a planar physical pendulum with a prismatic joint was chosen as a suitable model example. The chosen model can be identified in practice as a crane arm with a movable carriage. At present, the most common solution for suppressing residual oscillations is to use signal shaping circuits. Their task is to ensure the acceleration and deceleration without producing undesirable oscillation. The article analyses the solution of residual oscillation suppression using an embedded system for cases where the unwanted oscillation of a load has already occurred. This system should ensure the measurement, evaluation and consequent targeted influencing of the main control loop. This is the introduction of an embedded system for active damping.
