Impact of new technology on Asian power generation, transmission and distribution development in the 21st century

Abstract

China is a developing country. With the step towards reformation and opening, there have been many changes in the industrial and technical society, especially in power industry. The changes penetrate into the generation, transmission and distribution systems. With the development of the Three Gorges project set out in the 1990s, many studies and test projects have been carried out, such as type of transmission line, automation device, etc. The progress associated with Three Gorges power system, compact line and distribution automation is introduced in this paper.
